Activities Nearby

What to do……what to do…..Happy kids, happy parents. With only 3 families on site you will never feel that the place is thronged with children, but it is good to have a least one suggestion per day of “things to doooooo”.

There are activities here but also nearby and a little bit further afield that may take your interest.

To make things simple there are things that I book every week …..things that I can book for you when you want to do them ……and things that you can just potter off and discover for yourselves….good idea to ensure you have wellies and water shoes if possible….

Great for Pre Schoolers

Goat Farm As well as feeding the chickens on site the Goat Farm is a lovely visit – the cleanest goats I have ever seen –

Cognac – the historic town of Cognac is 20 minutes away and whilst it is best know for the alcoholic drink there is plenty to do for younger visitors too.

Head for the centre where you can have a coffee and watch the world go by and a twirl on the carousel. There are 4 good cafes to choose from on the Place Francois Premier where you can have the plate du jour or a snack. From there you can walk via the pedestrianised area down to the river. Best Restaurant to eat with little ones – La Scala on the river

Little Train – From the Place Francois Premier you can take the little tourist train which runs Saturdays and Sundays in low season and from the 1st of June most days – times are in the link

Base Plein Aire – park by the river – outside July and August lovely play area with tons of space to run around – in July and August there are inflatables and outdoor pool

Jardin Publique – take a push chair, little bike, scooter and a picnic …a really lovely space

River Beaches – what is it with kids and sand? There are a few around but our favourite and guest favourite; 20 minutes away – in July and August it is supervised and the snack bar etc are open, outside this time the beach is still there and open but it is not supervised. Also there is the Lake at St Yrieux – 20 mins away – 3k path all around where you can cycle / scoot / walk in peace. Beach area, snack bar, carousel, play areas.

Indoor / Outdoor pool great for all ages but be aware speedos are required for men and boys. (they have a vending machine) and the brand new at Cognac again with indoor / outdoor pool
