Well, there are boat trips in Jarnac on the “Chabot” above. A lovely look up and down the river from Jarnac to Bourg Charente.
How about cycling to the Roman Amphitheatre or just a 5 minute car ride? There is a visitors centre and beautiful walk through the forest.
Perhaps a picnic to the lake at St Yrieix where they have sailing, children’s’ park and a beach. The Nautilus centre is also there for indoor and outdoor swimming, aqua bikes, sauna and ice skating.
There is delightful riding school right next to the Roman amphitheatre catering to all ages and abilities only 5 minutes away.
Maybe you could take a river trip by canoe from Jarnac to Gondville where there is a great little beach and picnic spot? Two Olympic Kayak medalists trained here! Or a more leisurely less Olympic pootle around at Vibrac.
How about a visit to a traditional chocolatier to learn how to make your own exquisite choccies? Ateliers for 6 people are easily arranged
Cognac town is full of great shopping, eating and sight-seeing. After lunch perhaps a tour of one of the famous Cognac houses?
Taste the locally produced Cognac and Pineau de Charente at one of the many producers nearby. We can arrange tastings and the chance to buy direct from the producer in our village.

The regions largest open market 2 minutes away, held every 27th of the month come rain or shine. There are also twice weekly produce markets in Rouillac and a daily market in Jarnac, Sunday morning is full of atmosphere.
Cognac Blues Passion is a big music festival featuring big names every year.
Do you like antique and classic cars? The Circuit Des Remparts is thrilling. Amazing cars, like Porsches and Lambos charge around the streets of old Angouleme town every September. A stunning day out. No pussy footing here, real cars really racing. Take some ear defenders for the kids!
Its not just summer fun here in the Charente; Foodie heaven starts with Gastronomades in Angouleme in November and there is of course the Festival de la Bande Desinnee in January!
